Everyone, who has used concrete in various situations, knows that it has ageing problems. There are many tear and wear problems and many people consider them unsolvable. This is far from the truth though, and the solution has its name: concrete coating. It is also interesting that, with coating, concrete can get much nicer look it ever had before. What are these mentioned coatings anyway? They are special chemical solutions used for creation of impenetrable coating, or even to add layers on the concrete to prevent water molecules transmission, while keeping the structure safe at the same. As a final job, coating is applied to the existing concrete, and as a result you get beautiful finish     resistant to various corrosive elements. Coating can last many years than the “regular” concrete (the one without coating has been applied). 

When talking about coating techniques, the acid staining one is most often used, since it gives the concrete a marble-look. The other techniques often used are polishing, reflector enhancing, general and stamped overlays, engraving, epoxy coat and many other. These techniques, in most cases, add color and texture to the concrete, giving the decorative element next to the protecting ones.

The most home improvement material shops have availability of the coating products, although it is advised for bigger projects, to contact dealers directly while purchasing such products. Maintaining of your new concrete coating is rather simple, but very important at the same time. You have to put certain amount and time and energy, but it isn’t hard task after all.  Some smaller amount of time every two to three years will significantly extend the life of your new coating.
